Homework in Room C1

Typically, the students will be asked to do two things at home Monday through Thursday afternoons:

Reading:  There is nothing more important than reading at home every single day for a multitude of both academic and social-emotional reasons.  Third graders in Room C1 will begin the year reading every single day for 15-20 minutes.

Math:  Students few math tasks each night.  The math given for homework will be a direct reflection of the tasks done in class that day.  Math homework should take no more than 5-10 minutes.

Here and there, students will be asked to bring in special items from home for projects to be completed in class:  This may include photographs, a favorite book, and family memento, etc.

Due to the high importance of downtime, play, family time, and after school activities... time intensive at-home projects, extra credit and "more" homework will not be assigned.

Homework on weekends or over holidays will never be assigned.
